PCB Assembler

Our client develops advanced hardware smart IoT devices for various clients and customers around the world. They are rapidly expanding due to some exciting business wins, and they are looking to hire an experienced PCB Assembler for their lab in Kanata. 

Top Three Required Skills:
  • Strong soldering and PCBA experience. 
  • Must possess IPC certification.
  • Experience with SMT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solder and manually assemble various electronic components such as resistors, diodes, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, switches, wires, and other electronic parts to designated locations on printed circuit boards.
  • Solder microcircuits require fine hand assembly, the use of microscopes, and advanced SMT hand rework soldering stations.
  • Install, mount, fasten, align, and adjust parts, components, wiring, and harnesses to subassemblies and assemblies using hand and small power tools.
  • May replace defective components and repair and overhaul older devices.

Required Skills/Duties:

  • Perform various repair work on PCB's.
  • Assembly Functions
  • Repair or replace components and PCBs.
  • Ability to Solder: Adhering to IPC Class 2 or 3
  • Accurate completion of production documentation and serialization of electronic assemblies
  • Care of test equipment, tools, and fixtures
  • Performs warranty repairs.
  • Improve methods, performance, and quality of products or services, and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Good hand-to-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of the function of various related test equipment
  • Maintaining and exhibiting a positive attitude and outlook
  • Health and safety conscious
  • QC experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to read ECN upgrades assets.

Education and Experience:

  • Electronics Technologist Degree
  • Experience in the electronics operational and production environment is required.
  • Experience in basic electronics, electronics testing, and debugging is considered an asset.
  • Experience with electronic soldering is considered an asset.
  • Experience in mechanical prototyping and assembly is considered an asset.
  • Experience in assembly is considered an asset.
  • Experience with lab organization, planning, and/or maintenance is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work alone and unsupervised.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive and action-oriented
