Software Manager (5G - OAM)

From applied research to advanced engineering, our client’s 5G R&D team will design and develop ground-breaking products & solutions. As a 5G RAN OAM Software Manager you will be a key member of a brand new, built from the ground up, high powered R&D team. The team works as part of our global 5G R&D organization designing, developing, and implementing a technology that addresses the demands of the 5G Radio subsystem for operators, and helping our customers exploit this significant market evolution. The candidate for this role will have experience in the telco industry, building carrier grade software, with preferred experience in embedded SW development, and/or OAM SW solutions (FCAPS, Logging, OMS, debug tools, NW simulation), and/or 4G/5G RAN development and/or EMS development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Committed to building a professional, comfortable, safe, and trusting development community
- Directs, leads, and manages a software development team in 5G NR gNodeB OAM Software and Software development environment and tools
- Holds both line management and project management responsibility
- Line responsibilities include human resource management, department competency, tools and methodologies, and product quality
- Project responsibilities include accountability for customer deliverables, budget, and schedule
- Technical leadership with proficiency in 5G NR gNodeB OAM software; influencer for software development environments tools, including building effective CICD environments
- Hiring and maintenance of a diverse and effective workforce
- Coordination of third-party deliverables that contribute to the overall product
- Experience managing a multi-site development team
- Creation and execution of any required development processes
- Status reporting to stakeholders
- Define and lead an agile environment for this team
- Mentor team members
Essential Requirements:
- Proven record of successfully running software development programs for telco products, preferably wireless 4G/5G, and delivering carrier grade product to market
- Organized, goal-oriented, self-starter, with a servant-leadership & team focused mentality
- Excellent communication and motivation skills
- Expertise in Agile, CI/CD, and LEAN SW development
Desirable Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 2+ years of managerial and/or leadership experience
