Sr. Data Science Developer


We have partnered with a recognized leader in the Canadian fintech space to search for Data Science Developer. This role will focus on working directly with machine learning and statistical models for digital applications to influence thousands of customers. The right person for this role is passionate about challenging the status-quo and is interested in creating innovative solutions to next-gen business related obstacles.


The Role:
  • Collaborate with Business Unit stakeholders to guide their decisions using data
  • Collaborate on the design, development and implementation of machine learning initiatives that drive business value
  • Provide guidance to data scientist developers to build and maintain skills in leading data science techniques and technologies
  • Lead data modeling of complex business problems, discovering business insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques, and present findings to senior management
  • Demonstrate specialized skills and standardized data science techniques (eg, regression, segmentation, deep learning, feature importance and model explainability logging, model drift monitoring)
  • Collaborate with Data Architecture and Enterprise Architecture teams on the implementation of approved architectures required to support data science solutions
  • Support the innovation objectives of the organization by delivering technical solutions that solve complex business problems through the application of data science techniques
  • Contribute to analysis on the financial and actuarial impact of machine learning initiatives

The Requirements:
  • University degree or higher in Computer Science, with a concentration in data science and machine learning programming and techniques preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a Data Science role
  • Proficiency with a variety of programming languages and computing platforms relevant to data science and machine learning, eg C++, Python, Juptyer, Spark, etc
  • Experience with applied statistics and quantitative modelling (e.g. regression, segmentation, experimentation, and machine learning)
