About the Opportunity

Talentlab is looking for an AI Software Engineer to join our client's growing AI and Data team. This is a hands-on role focused on building and deploying real-world AI and Machine Learning solutions.

You’ll work at the intersection of software engineering, AI/ML, cloud, and MLOps, helping take ideas from experimentation through to reliable production systems. The work will include LLM-powered applications, RAG, intelligent document processing, vector search, and agentic AI.

You’ll work closely with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Cloud/DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to build solutions that are scalable, secure, and practical.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML applications and services
  • Build and improve ML pipelines for training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring
  • Develop LLM-powered applications using technologies such as RAG, vector databases, and AI agents
  • Build APIs, automation, and supporting services around AI/ML solutions
  • Deploy AI solutions in Microsoft Azure and enterprise data environments
  • Improve testing, monitoring, observability, and reliability of AI systems
  • Work with Cloud and DevOps teams on CI/CD, deployment automation, and infrastructure
  • Help develop MLOps and LLMOps practices and improve the overall AI platform
  • Work with the broader team to solve technical challenges and bring new AI capabilities into production

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of industry experience developing AI, Machine Learning, or software applications
  • Strong Python and SQL skills are a MUST
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals and experience building production applications, APIs, or cloud-based systems
  • Experience taking AI/ML solutions from development into production
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI technologies such as LLM APIs, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, and AI agents
  • Understanding of MLOps, LLMOps, model deployment, monitoring, and production reliability
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

You don’t need to have experience with every technology listed above. We’re looking for someone with a strong engineering foundation who is interested in building practical, production-ready AI solutions.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Work on real-world AI projects, not just experiments and prototypes
  • Build and scale modern ML and Generative AI applications
  • Work across software engineering, AI/ML, cloud, and MLOps
  • Have a voice in how AI systems are designed and built
  • Work with a collaborative, cross-functional technical team
  • Fully remote, anywhere in Canada
