Sensor Systems Engineer — Sensor Fusion & Signal Processing
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Focus: Sensor fusion, DSP, estimation algorithms
TalentLab is working with a leading semiconductor technology company on a Sensor Systems Engineer opportunity focused on advanced sensing technology for smartphones, wearables, IoT and other embedded consumer devices.
This role is centered on algorithm and systems engineering rather than traditional software development, combining digital signal processing, sensor fusion, estimation and machine learning to develop next-generation sensing capabilities.
What you'll work on
- Design and develop single and multi-sensor fusion algorithms using DSP and ML techniques.
- Work with accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer and other sensor data.
- Apply techniques including Kalman filtering, adaptive filtering, linear algebra, probability and statistics.
- Prototype algorithms using MATLAB and Python.
- Evaluate and benchmark algorithms across accuracy, performance, power and computational complexity.
- Support implementation of algorithms in C/C++ on embedded platforms.
- Work across R&D, systems engineering, software integration, validation and commercial deployment.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing and estimation techniques.
- Experience developing algorithms using IMU or other physical sensor data.
- Knowledge of Kalman filters, adaptive filters, probability and statistics.
- Experience with MATLAB and/or Python for algorithm development.
- Exposure to machine learning techniques including classification, regression and feature extraction.
- C/C++ experience is beneficial.
- Publications or research in signal processing, sensor fusion or related areas are an asset.
